In Series One, we meet brothers Steven (27) and Deane (32) living together in the idyllic landscape town of Luton, surrounded by the bounty of nature ... and what can they do with it? Deane, as the favourite of their Mum Christine (age unknown), has very few cares in the world. Who needs to be literate, numerate or capable of getting a job? Not him. This is not a view shared by his younger brother Steven, however, who considers himself the intellectual of the family and takes every opportunity to try and prove it. Follow the lads through holidays, pets, illness, love and even the loss of their house in this introduction to life at it's least glamourous.
Series One features the vocal talents of Steven Munn, Deane Sales, Christine Munn, Valerie Thompson, Brian Higgins and Dean Hartgill.
With guest appearances from Lorraine Strachan, Liam Mullane, Brandon Hamblin, Casey Sales and Tina Kilpatrick.
Episode 1:
"Tiddles"
What do you do when your brother comes home with a cat he bought from someone in the pub?
What if, upon closer inspection, it turned out to not be a cat at all, but something much more sinister?
Perhaps you might enlist the help of your mother - but then not everybody has a mother like Steven...
Episode 2:
"The Fitness Bug"
The dawning of a New Year is traditionally a time for change.
Steven and Deane have built themselves a home gym in an effort to lose some weight - but which will crack first, their willpower or their dodgy D.I.Y?
Perhaps joining a proper gym is the answer...
Episode 3:
"In Sickness"
When Steven is ill and Deane has to do the shopping, a nightmarish experience leads him to run away from home.
Mum of course blames Steven, and demands he finds his missing brother - but where could he be; and could that convenient news report from the Himilayas have anything to do with it...?
Episode 4:
"Fired"
Fire! Fire!
Unfortunately the Fire Brigade don't take too kindly to Steven's rescue demands, and the brothers are left homeless. Claiming on the home insurance also proves trickier than first thought, so the lads are left with only one option while the house is being renovated - Move in with Mum!
Episode 5:
"The Dentist"
It's that time of year again. The six-monthly checkup comes naturally enough to most people, but not Deane. To make matters worse,the dental nurse is..familiar.
As are the two figures following Deane around...
Episode 6:
"Lovesick"
The newsagent has taken on a rather nice assistant, and Deane soon finds himself besotted. When Steven himself falls for her too, there's only one solution-
a contest!
Episode 7:
"Decorating"
Springtime in Luton, and the old place could do with a spruce up. The house, that is, not Luton.
Of course, this being Steven and Deane, nothing goes to plan.
How hard can it be to get hold of a simple paintbrush...?
Episode 8:
"The Family Reunion"
Family reunions are usually a happy, joyous occasion for families to get together and re-form those strong bonds. On the other hand, when the the first to arrive is an Aunt who taught Steven all he knows about sarcasm and arrogance, who will crack first - the master or the student?
Episode 9:
"Neighbourhood Watch"
Joining the Neighbourhood Watch scheme sounds like a good idea. Protecting your local area should be reward enough, but Deane has found out that you get a whistle if you join, so that's that. The lads' first investigation however involves talk of aliens, and Mum's car found abandoned near the woods...the very woods that strange lights have been spotted at night...
Episode 10:
"The Holiday"
When Deane wins a free holiday for him, Steven and their Mum to New Zealand, little do the lads know they are fated to make the most important discovery in natural history for a very long time....
Episode 11:
"The Critical Critic"
Despite a strange new haircut, Steven has got himself a new job, so it's time for Deane to stop moping around the house all day and get a hobby.
Trouble is, what sort of hobby will suit him? Mum thinks she can help.
Episode 12:
"Christmas Cards"
Preparations for Christmas begin, and we join Steven and Deane around the kitchen table to experience the traditional Christmas-time chores - cards, presents, dinner and of course a wonderful story about Santa.
